We deliver products and services that will enhance the understanding of fine jewelry and its ownership. We strive to educate and serve the public ethically and without bias. We endeavor to better the jewelry industry on the whole by promoting the highest level of stewardship in those we train and associate with. The pursuit of knowledge, ethical conduct and a passion for our field of expertise are the cornerstones of our business.

Our History

The American Jewelry Institute was formed in 1999 by president and CEO Richard J. Malerba, G.G., Member NAJA. The company represents the culmination of many years of experience in various aspects of the jewelry industry. Today the company services focus on advising and educating our clients about the complex and often mysterious world of fine jewelry and gems. We conduct workshops, seminars and appraisal events throughout the US. The appraisal services of the company have grown to become the center piece of our business. Capital investment and the hiring of quality gemologists has propelled the American Jewelry Institute to new heights. We would like to thank all of our past and future clients. The American Jewelry Institute provides world class authoritative appraisals for all fine jewelry , gems and timepieces. Appraisals are conducted for a variety of reasons including, insurance coverage, estate planning, donation, liquidation and taxation purposes. Our clients include Individuals, Insurers, Advisors, Attorneys & Jewelers.

At AJI we advise both buyers and sellers of fine Jewelry. We offer consultative services that will assist you in making the right decisions regarding the acquisition and disposition of treasures possessions. Our services are typically fee based not based on a percentage of a sale or commission. This separates us from our competitors and gives our clients unparallel peace of mind in the buying and selling process.

Educating our customers is a top priority. Every service we offer is built on the premise that knowledge is the key to effective decision making. To this end we maintain an educational blog, publish informative texts and essays and conduct classes. Diamond & gemstone buying seminars and workshops are conducted periodically at various locations in the Atlanta area and beyond. We are continuing expanding out educational services.
